While scrolling through my Moments, I noticed my childfree husband had changed his cover photo. It showed an adorable baby boy, and the child looked remarkably like my husband, with at least seven features in common. When I asked, my husband simply said, “I just thought the baby was cute. Since we don’t have kids, I wanted to enjoy looking at one.”
I didn’t press him. The next day, while scrolling through videos, I came across the baby’s mother. I opened her profile and was about to message her that her son looked a lot like my husband. But the moment I saw the pinned video at the top of her page, my breath caught in my throat. The man in the video had his back to the camera, wearing a dark gray cashmere sweater. My husband had one just like it.
