The ’70S It Girl Sees the Comments and Loses Her Persona

Nan Yin transmigrates into a book. She becomes a famous beauty in the factory’s cultural troupe in the 1960s. She has a pretty face but is hopelessly lovestruck, throwing herself wholeheartedly at someone who doesn’t deserve her. Worse, comments keep appearing before her eyes, laying out in detail the miserable life she’s destined to have as cannon fodder. Nan Yin sneers. “Whoever wants this spineless script can have it. I’m not playing along!” No one knows she already has a secret betrothal arranged for her as a child. The nephew of the He family runs off to the countryside to avoid the marriage. He Jinchuan is recovering with his unit after being injured. His elders force him to take his nephew’s place and fulfill the engagement. Facing the handsome, stern, tall, and imposing man, Nan Yin asks briskly, “When are we registering our marriage?” He Jinchuan is taken aback. He never expected her to agree so readily. After the comments freeze for several minutes, they erupt [What the hell! Doesn’t she chase after Technician Gu every day? Why is she suddenly asking to marry Mr. He?] [Has this pretty face changed her ways?] Nan Yin knows exactly what she’s doing: marrying a reliable man is better than ending up as a lovestruck cannon-fodder. The once delicate, timid beauty, whose only asset was her looks, changes overnight. She refuses to let people push her around anymore. She puts difficult people in their place, shows off her talents, builds a career, and makes her life shine. He Jinchuan gradually realizes that his seemingly fragile little wife isn’t just a pretty face. She’s clever, decisive, and capable in every way. From then on, he cherishes her above all else and protects her so thoroughly that the whole army turns green with envy. Once-dismissed beauty of a wife makes a comeback through her own efforts, finding success in both her career and love life and becoming someone everyone looks up to.
