Lord: Starting in a Blessed Cave Realm

East of the Great Mountains lies a barren backwater abandoned by orcs, elves, and even humans. Here, magic is waning. Only starving winter refugees, impoverished lords, and monsters that roam at midnight remain. Then, one day, a “mage” from the East built a Taoist temple in the wilderness. Years later, no one knew exactly when it began, but refugees from all corners, down-and-out knights, and even foreign races fleeing disaster started bowing before that temple. Some sought a dose of blessed water, others a pill. When envoys from distant lands crossed the mountains to recruit this legendary mage, they discovered his ambitions had long since gone far beyond that. Dwarves bowed before him, the Elf Queen submitted to him, and mages hailed him as the holiest of saints. Even the clergy cried out: “The Lord Haotian is actually our God, too!” “Standing before you now is the protector of everything east of the Great Mountains, the last conscience of the continent of Sera, the Goblin Slayer, he whom orcs call invincible, Lord of Hania, the Great Teacher of the Way, the Daoist Patriarch, the Great Eastern Mage: Wen Lan!”
