The Heir Pressed Me to Become His Concubine, So I Married the Future Regent Instead

Shen Qingtang, the biological daughter of the Ministry of Rites’ Vice Minister, had spent years lost from her family. After she was finally found, her whole family despised her. Only Gu Yunchi, heir to the Gu family, accepted her. He promised to marry her and treated her tenderly, so she fell for him and swore she would marry no one else. On their wedding day, her birth mother drugged her unconscious and married her off instead to Xie Yanche, a disabled general. The adopted daughter took her place and married Gu Yunchi, the man Shen Qingtang had yearned for over the past five years. That very night, Gu Yunchi tracked her down at the general’s residence and said calmly, “Qingtang, be my concubine for now. I’ll promote you to my equal wife later.” He was certain she would agree. After all, she had never refused him in the past five years! She looked at the man she had loved for five years and almost nodded. Suddenly, floating comments appeared before her eyes! [One day, he’ll sell you to a brothel! You’ll meet a tragic end!] [Stick with the disabled general! He’ll stand again in three months and become regent in three years. He’ll love only you!] She turned to Xie Yanche in his wheelchair. “I’ll heal your legs, and you’ll keep me safe. In three months, we’ll divorce.” After that, she threw herself into treating Xie Yanche. Meanwhile, Gu Yunchi came to the general’s residence time and again, always utterly confident. “Qingtang, stop being difficult and become my concubine.” She ignored him completely. Three months later, Gu Yunchi knelt at the general’s residence and begged through his tears, “Qingtang! I’ve divorced my wife. Come back and be my legal wife!” Before she could reply, the man behind her slowly stood up. “You think you can covet my wife?” With that, he scooped her into his arms. “General, the three months are up. We should divorce now.” He pinned her against the bed. “Shen Qingtang, don’t even think about divorce. In this life, you’re mine in life and mine in death.”
