My Younger Brother, the Qin Emperor

Born into an age of chaos, every ambitious young man dreams of bringing it to an end. But Wang Qi can't be bothered to do the work himself. He'd rather go with the flow and steer things in the right direction. As the elder cousin of Ying Zheng, Wang Qi is the son of a wealthy Zhao family that, according to the historical records, sheltered Zhao Ji and her son in Handan. He figures he can take advantage of Qin's powerful chariot and enjoy the shade beneath Ying Zheng's growing influence. Who could have guessed the tree was still too small, and the shade might not last much longer? The Chu faction wants to depose Ying Zheng, install Chengjiao, and seize power for themselves. Lü's faction establishes the School of Miscellaneous Thoughts and secretly promotes the idea of an emperor in name only, with ministers holding the real power. Zhao Yan is determined to destabilize Qin, making a huge fuss over Ying Zheng's parentage. Even Lao Ai, that nobody, wants to pull off a coup from the bedchamber... When the city gate catches fire, I'm bound to suffer too! Better to strike back than sit around waiting to die! But Xianyang leaves him little room to maneuver politically, so he decides to avoid the enemy's strengths and strike at their weaknesses. While everyone else is desperate to get into the royal capital, he'll take the road less traveled and start by accepting an assignment far from court. And somehow, that choice leads him to usher in a new era alongside Ying Zheng.
