In the autumn of 1936, Zhang Jinde, a doctor of medicine studying in Japan, returned to Suzhou with a box of Western medicine and a stethoscope. What greeted him was his father, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor who had spent his whole life guarding celadon medicine. Before the father and son had finished their quarrel, the plague came. The patient's skin developed blue scales, which turned into a pool of fishy blood within seven days. Zhang Jinde saw nothing under the microscope, but his father found two words from an ancient book: corpse miasma. Until he followed the smell and entered the back alley of the Japanese-run "Tongren Hospital". The sweet smell wafting from the incinerator was exactly the same as that of the patient's corpse. The iron door of the basement was locked, and the label on the refrigerator read: Sample·Dragon Vein Group. The Japanese call this the "Dragon Seed Project" - a virus designed to kill Han genes. They want to let Jiangnan's blood rot in their stomachs before they fully invade China. My father was thrown into prison.
