First Love, Half a Beat Late

Su Jianwei dislikes the fast, disposable romances of college. She prefers the slow-blooming sincerity of her parents’ generation, and the kind of love that grows gradually, with hearts drawing closer bit by bit.

Yan Xun’s world has always been governed by reason and restraint. His childhood and family taught him to stay composed and self-controlled, but never how to love. It wasn’t until he met the gentle, quiet Su Jianwei that he first understood: falling for someone has nothing to do with logic, only with what the heart feels.

She was moved by his steady, dependable nature, while he was drawn to the warmth and purity in her eyes. There were no rushed confessions or fiery entanglements. They drew closer at their own pace and fell in love in the clumsiest yet most sincere way, sharing a slow, thoughtful first love that belonged only to them.
