Amber Echoes

The story is set in a modern city, but a hidden “mirror world” exists alongside it. All negative emotions condense there into a black, amber-like substance. Those who devour souls become trapped within it as “Shadow Puppets.”

·Special ability: A select few possess “empathy,” allowing them to read residual memories by touching objects. This is how the heroine, Lin Xia, gets caught up in a supernatural maelstrom.
