Constable Cheng Is Still Hunting Antique Spirits Today

[A quick-witted constable with plenty of inner monologue x a cold-on-the-outside, ditzy prince who grants every request] The capital is bustling, and ancient artifacts are on display. Ghosts run rampant in the capital. An ancient abacus curses up a storm after spending all night tallying the books and discovering a loss. A writing brush frantically copies the Four Books and Five Classics in preparation for the imperial exam. A bronze mirror calls back wandering souls. Paintings show a thousand faces. The nation’s treasured artifacts lie shattered, and ritual instruments have lost their way... If these things weren’t happening to Cheng Hua, who rides around on a donkey chasing cats and teasing dogs, they might be fun to watch. But come on, she has important things to do too! Then she gets thrown in jail. Fine, let’s do this, in this damn world. The struggle for imperial power, the fate of the nation, the tides of history, the passage of time, and the rise and fall of countless dynasties. She furrows her brow. It’s hard to get things done when you’re nobody, especially with a princess on one side and a general on the other... Hm? That prince looks a little dim! Time to swindle him! Another day of catching ancient artifact spirits! Bonus scene Cheng Hua and Qi Yao are trapped in a formation. Qi Yao suddenly takes off running. Cheng Hua: “Is something wrong?” Qi Yao: “Yeah, we’ve already seen this thing seven times.” Cheng Hua angrily smacks him on the back: “Why didn’t you say so earlier? And why are you running so fast?” Qi Yao: “...Sorry. I just feel like someone’s chasing me with murderous intent.” Cheng Hua gets angrier and angrier, smacking him again and again: “That someone is me, damn it!” Qi Yao: “...Sorry.” After they escape the formation, someone invites them to tea. “Your Highness, how are you feeling?” Qi Yao: “...My back hurts.” Cheng Hua: “...” The man is shocked: “...Your Highness, do you have rheumatism?” Cheng Hua: “? Are you people crazy?”
