A Sword Through the Ashen Skies

The moon hangs full, illuminating the white-haired old across the world.

The sword's shadow is cold. From this day on, there will be no turning back from the ends of the earth.

After his mother died, Ling Fei was left with only a rusty sword and a length of straw rope.

He saved someone on a snowy night, only to be forced to kill.

In this troubled age, good and bad alike go hungry.

Later, someone asked him, “Where did those sword-bone gifts of yours come from?”

All he could remember was that endless snowfall.

The youth bore the snow and wind on his shoulders, his three-foot blade cleaving the endless night.

It turned out the road home at the end of his life

was only that snowfall from the day he set out, never-ending.
