The Road to the Sun: From the East China Sea to the Tianshan Mountains

In 2011, Lin Xiaoyang joined the East China Sea branch of Great Wall Petroleum, thinking her life would be nothing but reports and procedures. Amid the administrative drudgery, a seed of compliance quietly took root. Transferred to Yanshan, she found herself on a legal battlefield rife with undercurrents. A leaked contract and a covert online battle suddenly brought her to her senses: the front line of economic security was right at her fingertips! Behind the capital’s glittering facade, a silent struggle was underway. In 2018, a transfer order sent her to the foothills of the Tianshan Mountains. At Great Wall Petroleum’s Northwest Xinjiang branch, the mission of providing technical support took her out into the vast Gobi. But this magnificent frontier was also a silent front line. Suspicious surveys, sudden cyberattacks, and threats to the lifeblood of the energy sector... Beneath the calm coordination work, a storm was brewing. She wasn’t a soldier, yet again and again she found herself on the edge of the storm. A crisis threatening a vital oil pipeline forced her and her colleagues into a life-or-death decision. Could an ordinary logistics post really be the last lock protecting the nation’s lifeline? In 2022, she returned to Shanghai, carrying a medal honed by wind and sand. The legal specialist of old had become a pillar protecting core technologies and data security. From traditional refining to the vast new-energy frontier, the battlefield changed, but the vigilance engraved in her bones did not: national security begins with every ordinary act of dedication. Fifteen years, four cities. One ordinary woman’s career brings together the pulse of the energy lifeline, the heartbeat of frontier development, and the nail-biting moments of a struggle fought in the shadows. This is no tale of secret agents. It is the epic of an ordinary Great Wall Petroleum employee, who, amid the era’s raging tides, took responsibility as her shield and expertise as her blade, writing the story of an ordinary guardian. See how an unsung figure hears thunder in the silence and guards the nation’s gates from a logistics post!
