Earth's Final Heartbeat

In 1993, expedition member Zuo Dajun vanished in the forest. Thirty-one years later, the photographs he took before disappearing come to light again. In one, points of light shimmer beneath the water in a meadow lake. Some say they are legendary spirits revealing themselves; others say they are the eyes of the forest’s most terrifying monster, opening in the darkness. A team is formed to search for Zuo Dajun. Following the clues in their hands, they venture out to find him, only to discover that the secrets hidden in the forest far exceed anything they have heard or seen. Deep shafts and vertical caves where people can be buried, astonishing murals in cliffside grottoes, and strange spirits that have left countless legends in the mountains and woods: they seem to have been gone for a long time, but now the spirits have returned... The Earth is beating with the ancient rhythm of a long-lost age, awakening them once more. As ordinary people, He Xuan and Luo Zi gradually draw closer to the truth. Zuo Dajun never disappeared. And Luo Zi and He Xuan must convince the spirits that they can be trusted before the spirits will reveal their secrets...
