Kiss to Kill

[The heroine strikes back; there's no way to win her back; the villain gets what he deserves; the heroine is experienced, while the hero is chaste] After Ruan Xin was set up and slept with Chi Hengfei's younger brother, she chose to call the police. But after weighing his interests, Chi Hengfei threatened her family's lives to cover up the scandal. Ruan Xin had no choice but to pretend to submit while secretly gathering evidence to expose Chi Hengfei's crimes. Yet time and again, the now powerful Chi Hengfei crushed her efforts. One blow after another forced her to lower her head and placate him, but it was then that she began to sense that he might have fallen for her.

Their positions were reversed. The abuser bowed his head for love, willingly baring his heart for the woman he had once humiliated and trampled underfoot to use as she pleased. All he asked was that one day she might soften, forgive him, forget the past, and try to love him just once.

Ruan Xin only found it laughable. She asked Chi Hengfei, “Do you know what it feels like to hear the word ‘love’ from you?”

“Like suddenly hearing an animal open its mouth and speak like a human.”
