After I Publicly Announced My Relationship with the Campus Heartthrob, My Childhood Friend Was So Mad He Jumped into a Lake

[Childhood-friend regret arc + college campus + new love interest wins + bittersweet romance] My childhood friend and I came from similar backgrounds and grew up together. Everyone thought we were a couple. On my birthday, he bought enough roses to fill an entire sports field. My roommates teased us, sure he was about to confess his feelings to me. But I’m allergic to pollen. I knew he wasn’t confessing to me. He was confessing to the poor girl his mother had separated him from back in high school. The boy who had cried and knelt in the middle of the road when he was six, begging someone to save me, had long since disappeared. Later, when the campus heartthrob of Jing University, the one everyone admired from afar, was always by my side, my childhood friend began to regret his choice. He stood beneath the pouring rain outside my dorm, begging me to forgive him.

“Fish the jade pendant you threw into the lake back then out of the water, and I’ll forgive you.”

My childhood friend spent the whole day diving into the lake, but couldn’t find it. The next day, the pendant was around the campus heartthrob’s neck. Furious, my childhood friend jumped into the lake again!
