My Best Friend and I Transmigrated into a Book. She Married a Powerful Official, So I Did Too

My best friend and I transmigrated to ancient times. I became the obsequious lapdog of a tyrannical chief minister, while she became the wife of an obsessive young lord. The chief minister despised me, and the young lord couldn’t stand her. Both were fixated on their dearly departed first love, never realizing how delighted we were. Go on, fight! We’d be thrilled if you were too busy to bother us! By day, my friend and I acted like enemies, arguing from one end of the street to the other. By night, I emptied the storehouses while she made off with the gold and silver. “Is that enough?” “Probably!” “According to the plot, the first love is coming back soon. So what do we do?” “Run! I’ll carry you off on my back tonight!” The first love, who wasn’t supposed to return for another year, suddenly showed up. The two men were instantly smitten, and turned on my friend and me with swords drawn. We exchanged a look. Run! Right now! After faking our deaths, my friend and I dressed in disguise every day, taking our gold and silver to brothels to ogle handsome men and drool over their abs. Then one night, drunk and feeling a little restless, I called for a pretty boy. He stared at me with a sinister look, and my drunkenness vanished in an instant. “Hi… Chief, Chief Minister.” He said nothing, just hoisted me up and tossed me onto the bed. Terrified, I darted next door to find my friend. There she was, pinned against the wall with the young lord’s hand around her neck. His hoarse voice rang out: “Are you still going to run?” I fell silent. Oh no! Now we really can’t get away!
