Connecting Past and Present: I Spoil a Banished Prince Through the Famine

[Ancient-to-modern + famine + stockpiling supplies + infrastructure building + farming + frenzied shopping] [Heroine's story] During the Ghost Festival, Song Fuling held a ceremony to summon her parents' spirits, but instead she summoned a person from ancient times, who offered gold and silver in exchange for food. Song Fuling thought it was just a dream, but the next day the ancient visitor appeared again, asking for supplies. Song Fuling was getting fed up, until the other party offered up their belongings. Good, they understood that nothing in this world came for free. Song Fuling took a cut as commission, acting as a simple middleman and feeding both the other party and herself. But this wasn't a sustainable solution. To feed an entire city, teaching people how to fish was better than giving them fish. And so Song Fuling began building infrastructure in ancient times. [Hero's story] After three years of severe drought, people throughout the empire were starving. Xiling Hao cared deeply about the people, but had no solution. Then one night, a house suddenly appeared on wasteland in the county town, with rice and flour spread across the floor. A place that wasted food like this must have plenty to spare. Offering gold and silver, Xiling Hao asked only for a chance to save his people.
