When the Gates of Hell Open, a Hundred Grievances Rise: The Heir's Wife Commands All Ghosts

Su Yunyi remembered dying on an autumn night in the first year of Xihe. She had been struck 1,236 times, every blow cutting to the bone. As the murderer brought down the knife, they sneered and told her that her fiancé, the man who had promised to grow old with her, had married her half-sister. The story spread throughout Jizhou City: Su Yunyi, the eldest daughter of the Su family, had eloped with a man while still unmarried, becoming a “slut” everyone felt free to spit on. No one knew that the eldest Su daughter, who had handed out porridge in Jizhou City for years, had died in a ruined temple outside Qianfeng City, her body so mangled it was no longer recognizable. She returns from the dead. Su Yunyi wants only revenge, then to carry out her divine duties, rewarding good and punishing evil as she walks among mortals. Once the job is done, she’ll pack her bags and go work for Bixia Yuanjun. Maybe she can even earn herself an official post. Who would have thought a marriage contract would trap her in the capital instead? Qin Shang: “I’ve offered our marriage certificate to Heaven and Earth. Yuanjun agreed to it.” Su Yunyi: “You can find anything in a dream!”
