Her Father Is Unknown, Her Mother Doesn't Care, and After Fleeing Famine, She Claims a Mountain as Her Own

Fleeing famine ✘ Golden finger ✘ Childhood sweethearts ✘ Alternate ancient setting ✘ Infrastructure building ✘ Everyday family life A living hell from the start: she saves her pregnant mother, who is about to be thrown into a pig cage, and flees with her. While everyone else flees famine and reclaims wasteland, she has an impossibly powerful golden finger: she plucks strands of people's hair and plants them like seeds, burying them in the soil until they take root and sprout. Most of the time, plant melons and get melons, plant beans and get beans. But sometimes, what she grows sticks to her side, utterly loyal and ready to follow her through life and death. She plants, and plants. From having nothing, she grows a village, then a city. From being all alone, she grows a crowd of admirers. Her only failed crop is the catlike pretty boy next door, aloof and sharp-tongued. No matter how she tries to grow him, he drifts through life, detached from the world. So does this haughty little cat see her as his younger sister, or his younger sister?
