An Overdue Fairy Tale

A lovestruck, arrogant doctor vs. an aloof high school teacher

Just before the college entrance exam, Duan Xiangyu’s family is struck by tragedy. His father falls to his death while on duty, his mother goes mad after receiving his autopsy report, and Zhou Sui breaks up with him when he needs her most. Her reason is brutally practical: “You know I can’t handle even the slightest hardship.”

Duan Xiangyu lets Zhou Sui go. For the next ten years, they have no contact at all.

They meet again on an operating table. Zhou Sui has fallen from a building while protecting her students, and her life is in danger. Duan Xiangyu is her attending physician. While she is unconscious, he pays her medical bills, finds a place for her students, tears into her fiancé, and fights back against online abuse.

When Zhou Sui learns the truth, she is astonished. Given Duan Xiangyu’s petty nature, she would have thought he’d cause a medical accident and make sure she died without anyone noticing.

“Don’t you hate me?” Zhou Sui asks.

“I do,” Duan Xiangyu replies. “That’s why I want to save you, nurse you back to health, and then kill you slowly.”

Zhou Sui smiles with relief and hooks a finger into his belt. “I don’t regret my choice back then at all. Whatever you do, don’t go soft and forgive me. And don’t fall in love with me again.”

*I’ll do anything for love, but I won’t say a word about it.*

Watch these two stubborn fools push and pull each other to the limit.
