The Last Medium

To die with one's eyes open means that even after death, one's eyes remain unclosed. This happens when someone dies with unfinished business weighing on their mind, which becomes an obsession. Obsession turns into a demon, and demons kill the living. Debts have their debtors and grudges their objects: anyone connected to someone who died with their eyes open will suffer a lifetime of bad luck, whether bedridden with illness or wiped out along with their entire family!

To lay her mother to rest, Nan Qiao stumbled upon her ability to sense and resolve the obsessions of the dead. As she helped one restless spirit after another, her powers grew stronger and stronger...

“Nan Qiao, aren't you afraid of women?”

He smiled. “You're not a woman.”

Nan Qiao remained expressionless, knowing he must have more to say.

Sure enough, he continued. “You're a spirit medium, the last one in the world, and one of a kind!”

Nan Qiao smiled. “Qin the Fox, you've really gone and gotten yourself tangled up with a fox spirit...”
