Beauty of the Inner Palace: My Noble Consort Is Timid and Afraid of Trouble

The daughter of a minor official, she was mistreated and picked on by her stepmother from childhood. Her father ignored her, thinking only of using her to curry favor with his superiors and win himself a promotion. If she had to become a concubine anyway, why not become the concubine of the most powerful person in the world? She schemes at every turn, earns the chance to enter the palace selection, and becomes a lowly Seventh-Rank Beauty in the imperial harem. Note: This story is set in an imaginary dynasty and is entirely fictional.
