The Gu Family's Lucky Star in the Seventies

The Lin family took in a little girl who was said to be a legendary lucky star, but they no longer wanted to raise her. The girl brought no good fortune to the family, and on top of that, she was deaf, mute, and limped. The Gu family was the unluckiest household in Shuiqu Village. The eldest son and his wife had died young, the second son was obsessed with making money and had no interest in marriage, the youngest daughter was a bookworm, the eldest grandson was a bit dim, the youngest grandson was perpetually ill, and they had even adopted a disabled little girl. Just as everyone was waiting to laugh at the Gu family, their lives kept getting better and better. The second son grew richer and married a highly educated woman. The youngest daughter became a bestselling author, famous at home and abroad. The eldest grandson distinguished himself again and again on the battlefield, earning so many commendation banners they were delivered right to the family home. And the eldest son and his wife, who had been dead for years, came back home too. The elder Gu couple could not stop beaming. It was all thanks to their little lucky star! The Lin family watched with jealous, bloodshot eyes, grinding their teeth. If only they had known, they never should have let the girl go! The reborn businessman was completely baffled. Why was everything different from how it had gone in his previous life? And how had the perpetually sick, terrifying villain turned over a new leaf too?
