A Second Marriage to the Heir

After Wen Xuan, eldest legitimate daughter of the Wuan Marquis's household, was reborn, the first thing she did was tell the female official from the Prince of Zhenbei's household, who had come to arrange a marriage proposal, that she wanted to break off the engagement. She even gave herself a reputation for bringing misfortune to her husband. What she never expected was that the husband who had treated her with icy indifference in her previous life had also been reborn. After being reborn, Pei Zhang, heir to the Prince of Zhenbei, raced all the way from the northern frontier to Huajing, determined to come and marry her in person. When he heard his wife wanted to break off the engagement and that scoundrels were coveting her while a scheming woman plotted against her, the young lord Pei gave a cold laugh and stood outside the Wuan Marquis's residence with a long sword in hand. “This sword of mine is for taking the heads of scum.”“Young lord, please calm down. The eldest Miss Wen says she is fated to bring misfortune to her husband.”“The fortune-teller said my fate is too strong to be overcome. All I'm missing is a wife who can bring me bad luck.”... In the end, Wen Xuan donned her phoenix coronet and red wedding robes and once again rode in the wedding sedan chair of the Prince of Zhenbei's household. On their wedding night, he lifted her red veil and pulled her into his arms. “A-Xuan, from now on, we'll never be apart again.” Married twice, bound by love across two lifetimes, they finally found their happily ever after.
