I Have a Pair of Snake Eyes

My mother is a spirit medium. When I was six, she fought a man-eating black serpent, and because I was her own flesh and blood, I became her only helper, and the one who killed the snake. The black serpent was on the verge of transforming into a dragon, and it was unwilling to die at the last moment. With its final strength, it took my eyes and replaced them with its own, intending to turn me into a monster whom everyone would hunt down, leaving my mother to regret it and suffer for the rest of her life. From that moment on, the world I saw was no longer the same as the one ordinary people saw. I never imagined that someone with ulterior motives would covet these snake eyes, either.
