She Is the Moonlight in the Dark of Night

Ji Yingying still remembers the first time she saw Huo Zheng. She had just woken from a nap and was walking downstairs barefoot when a boy in a white shirt among the rose bushes looked up at her, a book in his hands. The warm breeze of a midsummer afternoon lifted her skirt. It was so lovely, like a dream she hadn’t yet woken from. Six years later, she knelt in the courtyard as Huo Zheng looked at her with cold eyes, as if she were a complete stranger. He was the one who told her to die, and he was also the one who caught her when she fell. From that moment on, they owed each other nothing. [I hate you, and I hate myself even more for still loving you so humbly.]
