The Old Ancestress Princess Is Hard to Placate

She reads fortunes, sees through life and death, and is a beautiful yet fearsome grand ancestor. Now a sickly young master has latched onto her. The young master sways with every step and leans against her. “My family is poor. I can’t even get enough to eat.” So the grand ancestor joins him for three meals a day. The young master blushes and coughs nonstop. “There are evil spirits in my home. I’m scared.” So the grand ancestor sneaks into his bed in the middle of the night. The young master’s eyes grow misty, and tears streak down his handsome face. “Everyone hates me. No one loves me.” So the grand ancestor puts an arm around his head. Then one day, she discovers the man is rolling in money and barking orders at a gang of bandits with a fierce look on his face. “When my grand ancestor arrives, beat me hard. She’ll save the beauty, and I’ll offer myself to her in return.”
