My Salvation from Depression

I am Osmanthus fragrans. The scent of cinnamon when I was seven years old became a temperature clue that I would hold in my hand when I was fighting depression. Depression is the coolness in the bones, the transparent isolation in the hustle and bustle. Those unspeakable grievances and worries wrap around my heart like vines. After I turned seventeen, it grew into a shadow that blocked the sky. It wasn't until I was lying in the ward at the age of twenty that I had to face it head-on. The old osmanthus tree outside the window of the ward, the fine petals and light fragrance floating in, gently suppressed my emotions that were on the verge of collapse. After that, I learned to no longer fight against depression, no longer be bound by the label of "patient", I reconciled with my imperfect self in the morning light, and regained my perception of life in daily necessities. As I get older, I gradually understand that the shackles are never outside the body, but the obsession inside. When I accepted the regrets and pain of the past, those shackles quietly collapsed. Depression is a part of my life, but it doesn't define it. These words soaked in tears and cinnamon are my letters of redemption. If you are stuck in the haze, don't be afraid. Salvation is never a miracle. It may be a ray of cinnamon, an old thing, or the courage to persist one more day. I hope that everyone who has ever struggled with depression can find their own healing cinnamon, which will still bloom in the light after going through wind and rain. This is my salvation, and I want to be your glimmer of light.
