An overworked office worker transmigrates into Gu Jiao, a lovestruck supporting character in a novel, and is forced to bind herself to a System and complete acting assignments. The original Gu Jiao stops at nothing to get close to the male lead, Mu Chen, and eventually dies by suicide after falling into depression. After transmigrating, the heroine rejects the lovestruck persona and tries to slack off, only to be threatened by the System. To complete her assignments, she cleverly asks for minor roles and fewer scenes. She unexpectedly discovers that the script is her own unfinished novel, and that the System is actually the administrator of the novel's world. Accepting reality, she continues writing the novel and heads toward its conclusion.
