An Elegy for Entropy's End

The countdown to the heat death of the universe ticks on. Every civilization will ultimately vanish as its energy dissipates. Foreseeing this calamity, the ancient “Seeder Civilization” buried twelve “Starbone Arks” throughout the Milky Way, each capable of reversing the rise of entropy. They can only be activated by gathering the “Civilization Seed Keys.” When humanity discovers the Seeder ruins on asteroid K-07 in the Kuiper Belt, its quantum-entangled murals seem to whisper a warning in binary encoded from the Book of Songs: “The Light Eaters have caught the scent of the keys.”

Lin Mo, captain of the near-Earth orbital archaeology vessel Pangu, is a descendant of the Xizhou-era Youyin Guides. Carrying a bronze compass, he ventures deep into the Starbone mystery. From the burning starry-sky visions on K-07 to the metal pyramid absorbing geothermal energy in the Mariana Trench, he and his team uncover a double truth: the deep-sea pyramid conceals the second Seed Key, and the bronze compass is a “Guiding Instrument” that calibrates the coordinates of the Betelgeuse Ark. But the high-dimensional vanguard of the Light Eaters has already breached the Oort Cloud, and the shadow of its tendrils is swallowing the starlight at the edge of the solar system.

Lin Mo’s genetic lock unexpectedly awakens, and the first shimmering patterns of vacuum zero-point energy appear in his palm. But this also draws the suspicion of the Joint Government and the assassins of the Entropy Cult. With the countdown to Betelgeuse’s supernova tied to the activation of the Ark, he must choose between the survival of civilization and a cosmic catastrophe: will he become the “key” that leads the way, or a martyr who sets the fire of reverse entropy alight?

Hard science fiction meets archaeological mystery; genetic evolution clashes with high-dimensional warfare. Across ten volumes and a million words, Entropy’s Requiem unfolds an epic saga of civilizations fighting to save themselves, spanning ten thousand years. In entropy’s requiem, only those who go against the current can rewrite the course of the stars.
