Anxi Monument

In the fourteenth year of Tianbao, Anlu Mountain rebelled. Twenty thousand elites from the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty were transferred eastward according to the imperial edict, leaving thousands of miles of Anxi suddenly empty. Ordnance Supervisor Li Zheng, a Chang'an craftsman who was demoted to the frontier, witnessed the smoke and dust of the cavalry heading east, and foresaw the future of the isolated city's hanging blade.
