But the monkey denies it with a compassionate expression, gazing into the distance with his discerning eye as he says:

“Good indeed, good indeed. This was done by another spiritual creature of Heaven and Earth. I know who it is, but cannot say.”

Where the voids converge, inside a Taoist temple.

“A cultivator must hold his head high to the sky, keep his feet firmly on the ground, and stand straight as a man...”

Su Bai nods and, for once, pours tea for the old Taoist.

“Hm? Why is the cat so well-behaved today? Don't tell me you've caused trouble again?”

Su Bai smiles sheepishly.

“Master, I think I might have accidentally smashed the Jade Emperor's desk.”

The old Taoist's hand trembles as he pours, spilling tea all over the ground.

“Oh no! My back hurts a little.”

“It's fine, nothing too serious...” the old Taoist says with satisfaction as the cat walks on his back.

“They didn't find you, did they?”

Su Bai: “No, but I left cat paw prints everywhere, and even left a message: ‘The Great Sage was here.’ Tell me, Master, wasn't that impressive?”

The old Taoist's beard quivers as his eyes widen. He quickly says, “Who are you calling your master?!”

Su Bai blinks. “Master, should you go into hiding for a while...”
