Demon Slayer: Princess Lianji Is the Ghost Realm’s Beloved

When plum blossoms from the Great Tang fall into a night parade of a hundred demons, this time the eternal night will become her paradise. She is the last moonlight of the late Tang, a plum blossom who has forgotten her past. To prolong the empire’s faltering fortunes, a beloved young princess is sent to the Eastern Isles, becoming the most beautiful offering on the board. The emperor grants her the rank of princess, and the powerful Ubuyashiki clan takes possession of this “jade ruyi from the Great Tang.” She is fated to marry the pale young lord, Tsukihiko. In her first life, her eyes held a flowing wisteria light that could see into people’s hearts, and she glimpsed the burning, resentful fire beneath the boy’s sickly frame. He was a red plum blossom on the verge of breaking in the snow, and she was the first and last ray of moonlight in his eternal night. When death came for him, golden Daoist light bloomed unknowingly at her fingertips, and she traded her life for his. Thus was the progenitor of demons born, and for this she fell under the curse of the Heavenly Dao’s cycle of reincarnation: whenever he found her and held her close, she would die at eighteen by the hand of the “Heavenly Dao.” In her second life, amid the flames of war in the Sengoku era, she took refuge with the Tsugikuni family. She stood up to protect the brothers destined to turn against each other, yet the Heavenly Dao struck her down again. From then on, Michikatsu’s sword rang only to surpass that bloodstained silhouette. In the floating world of Edo, she witnessed the love between a tiger and a white plum beneath the bamboo shadows of a dojo, and died after drinking poison to protect Koyuki. In the splendid halls of the Paradise Faith, she taught the child of a god what warmth meant, yet still withered at eighteen beneath the curse. Every death sent another soul tumbling into eternal night. Muzan’s obsession is a crown of thorns wrapped around her. At last, Patriarch Bodhi could bear it no longer and guided the blade known as Kokushibo to cut through the cycle of reincarnation. “If I don’t get close, I won’t lose you... But this distance drives me crazier than death.”
