Heaven on the Other Side

At the end of the eleventh century, before the embers of the Norman Conquest had cooled, the crusade for the Crusades had begun. In a manor on the border of Flanders, France, Elie, the son of a serf, has a pair of eyes that can read the texture of the soil and the cracks in people's hearts. An injustice stemming from a noble game crushed his father's life and his last illusions about faith and the world. Climbing up from the dust, he was determined to live by stealing fire.
