Reborn in 1983: Hunting and Fishing in Northeast China

In the winter of 1983, beneath the frozen river in a small forestry town, eighteen-year-old Song Lihua was pushed to the brink by fate, only to be unexpectedly reborn at eighteen.

The hardships of her previous life made her determined to rewrite her future. She would no longer go with the flow or let marriage and family dictate her life.

With her own two hands, she would make her first fortune fishing on the frozen river, using her intelligence and courage to break through the village’s prejudices and rigid traditions.

Along the way, she challenged convention, made a name for herself, and brought warmth back to her family.

The frozen river, the fish market, and the bustle and bitter winds of a Northeastern town witnessed how a stubborn girl rose from an ordinary life to become independent, writing a brilliant story of her own.
