Jun Listen to Gu Suxue

An illustration of two male protagonists in the late Qing Dynasty. The first volume, "Snow Mud Claws", is a story about "rescue" and "repayment". It started in the winter of the 10th year of Tongzhi, in the wind and snow at Xumen Wharf, Suzhou. The red-top businessman Shen Jingyan "rescued" the scholar Yang Cangzhou, which started an entanglement that lasted through the troubled times of the late Qing Dynasty and intertwined personal love and family and country justice. The story ends in the winter of the 26th year of the Republic of China. A promise that has been run over by the giant wheel of the times but will never dissipate has returned to silence in another snowfall in Suzhou.
