From the Start, She Tears Up the Family Tree and Captures Demons to Ascend

[Unhinged, carefree female rogue x scheming, proud black-lotus beauty] [Mystery + deduction + investigation]

In the second year of Jianyan, in the Great Yan Dynasty, evil spirits were everywhere. A new profession arose in response: demon hunters, also known as demon and ghost slayers.

Then an accident drained all of the spiritual power from Luo Wantang, the Luo family’s greatest genius, turning her into a cripple. Once a powerhouse who had nearly dominated an entire era, she seemed no different from an ordinary person without the spiritual power she’d once been so proud of. She thought she’d have to waste away the rest of her life in obscurity, until one day the demon king she’d always considered her archenemy appeared before her.

“Hey, little demon hunter. How about a deal? Once it’s done, you can have my life.”

…

From then on, the two began investigating cases together. But years later, when the demon king’s heart was finally returned to his body, he began to regret it.

“Hey, little demon hunter. About that deal I mentioned before... can I take it back?”
