A Dog's Journey Home

Xiaohua was a male Chinese rural dog who had been living happily in the countryside with his owner. But their good days didn’t last. After the owner was injured in an accident, his son took him to the city for treatment and retirement. Just like that, Xiaohua made the dramatic transition from house dog to stray and began wandering the urban jungle in search of his owner. Along the way, he witnessed the love, hatred, joys, sorrows, and separations of human beings. Little by little, he became less fixated on finding his owner and began to let go. When Xiaohua was old and frail, he decided to return to the place where he had been born and raised, and wait for death to finally come.
