The Inheritance of Shanwei Bamboo Sea

Before writing this story, I always felt that "inheritance" was a grand and distant word - it was the bronzes in the museum, the classical Chinese in ancient books, and the old plays performed on the stage. It wasn't until I heard Qinqin talk about her mother-in-law Shanwei and the days in the bamboo sea in Meizhou that I suddenly understood: It turns out that the most touching inheritance is never in books, but in the folds of firewood, rice, oil and salt, and in the tenacity of generations to live their lives. Shan Wei is not a legendary figure, she is just a Hakka woman who remarried with two sons. In her early years, when she made a living by washing clothes and mending, she never complained about hardship; when she dug up gold bars, she was not greedy; and when people in the village were in trouble, she never shied away. Her wisdom was not calculated, it was honed while squatting by the river, rubbing clothes, and soaking in the soles of her shoes at night under the moonlight. Understand that "helping others means helping yourself" and understand that "a family should stick together as a team". These simple principles are more effective than any great principles. They are like a seed falling into the soil of the Yao family and slowly growing into branches. Later, Qinqin married in, and the seed sprouted again. She quit her job to engage in bamboo weaving, not because of impulse, but because she had Shan Wei's spirit of "daring to venture out and dare to do it"; she led the whole family to engage in "bamboo weaving", not to do it alone, but to uphold the Hakka roots of "working together as a team"; she helped the villagers get rich together, not for fame, but to remember Shan Wei's teachings of "sharing blessings together". From running around alone, to the busyness of a family, to the prosperity of a village, the Yao family's life is like a stream in Meizhou, slowly flowing into a big river.
