The Carefree Fishing Immortal

Chen Fan, an office worker in the city, unexpectedly transmigrates to an unfamiliar ancient dynasty. He becomes a down-and-out scholar with nothing but four bare walls, about to be thrown out of his home. Just as despair takes hold, the Carefree Fishing System activates. He assumes it will simply let him catch fish and improve his meals, but on his very first cast, he reels in not a fish, but a gleaming ingot of silver!

From then on, his life goes into overdrive.

He fishes up A Manual for Cultivating Hybrid Rice, turning ten thousand mu of barren fields into granaries;

He fishes up The Barefoot Doctor's Handbook, becoming a miracle healer who saves lives;

He fishes up A Beginner's Guide to the Industrial Revolution, building a vast business empire.

All he wants is to live a carefree life as a wealthy man, but the things he fishes up grow more and more outrageous: the Imperial Jade Seal, peerless martial arts, even a treasure map from the previous dynasty...

Trouble comes one thing after another. Political infighting, grudges from the martial world, and princes battling for the throne all come knocking. With his green bamboo fishing rod in hand, Chen Fan gazes at the surging river and smiles helplessly. “I really just want to fish in peace!”
