Love Among the Maples

The story slowly unfolds around the bond between Jiang Lingwei and Li Jianchong, classmates since middle school. As students, the two became classmates through a twist of fate, and feelings quietly blossomed as they spent their days together. But fate had other plans: Jiang Lingwei was struck by illness and performed poorly on her college entrance exams, missing out on the school of her dreams. It was only after Li Jianchong got into college, just as he had hoped, that the two finally found the courage to confess the love they had kept hidden in their hearts. The ending is steeped in sorrow and enduring love. Jiang Lingwei dies saving her students, her life forever frozen in the bloom of youth. Holding a brilliant red maple leaf, Li Jianchong stands alone before her grave, remembering their innocent, tender young love as time flows quietly through the river of memory.
