An Old Dream in an Empty City: Dream Journey to Yunzhou

"Old Dreams in an Empty City: Dream Journey to Yunzhou" is set in Yunzhou, an old city full of traces of time, and tells the story of folklore researcher Lin Wei who returned to his hometown to explore the past of Su Yutang, a famous Su Yutang master a hundred years ago, and prepare for a folklore museum. Here, she meets Gu Yanzhi, a writer who comes to collect stories and write documentary novels. The two team up for a common goal and collect clues about the love legend between Su Yutang and her lover Lu Jingnian and Su embroidery skills. In the process, they received help from old city residents such as Grandpa Zhang who guarded the city gate, Li Xiuniang, the lonely successor of Panjin embroidery, and other warm stories. They also witnessed Su Yutang's descendant Xiaotang return from France to spread Su embroidery, and the poor girl Mengmeng regained her confidence through Su embroidery. During this period, there were touching vignettes such as the perseverance of the old curator in repairing the embroidery handed down from ancient times, the childlike agreement of the children to bury the embroidery, and the twists and turns of everyone overcoming prejudice and difficulties to inherit the intangible cultural heritage. In the end, Lin Wei and Gu Yan not only made Su Yutang's story known to more people, and the Folklore Museum became a cultural landmark of the old city, but they also fell in love with each other and stayed together in Yunzhou while guarding their old dreams.
