My name is Jialin Chambers, and I’m a transmigrator.

I’m also an intern angel on the verge of a breakdown from all the KPI targets.

I teamed up with a fellow miserable underling from the Underworld, a cute little grim reaper, and flipped the table!

We teamed up to pad each other’s performance: she reaped souls, and I stamped the forms. We rocketed up the ranks, becoming the brightest new stars in Heaven and Hell.

Years later.

I, Jialin Chambers, stood before all of Heaven’s senior executives.

I slapped that damned attendance sheet onto the flawless face of Michael, the Archangel.

“Chairman, perhaps it’s time for someone else to manage Heaven!”

“And you can keep those ‘benefits’ that let you make up your holidays ten thousand years after death. Save them for Lucifer!”

For the first time, a crack appeared in the holy light on Michael’s face. “You seem to have forgotten that I am the source of all angels!”

Jialin grinned, baring the fangs of an overworked employee:

“I quit being an angel, Michael!”
