A writer of angsty romance unexpectedly transmigrates into the world of her own novel, where its tormented male lead, Leng Rui, forces her to rewrite the plot. The author originally planned to leave Leng Rui battered and wishing he were dead, but under his resistance and pleas, she has no choice but to change the story and lessen his suffering. As the story unfolds, she discovers that Leng Rui’s view of the world is very different from what she originally wrote, and that his adoptive parents care deeply for him. At Leng Rui’s insistence, the author tries to rewrite the story as a wish-fulfillment romance, but runs into one challenge after another. When Leng Rui suffers a backlash from the rewritten plot, the author sacrifices some of her own abilities to save him. She returns to the real world and gives up writing misery for misery’s sake.
