The Invisible Hero

In a future world still shrouded by an iron curtain, the weak crawl in the dust, and justice bleeds in dark alleyways. Deep within this decaying order, a shadow emerges from the void. His name is Long Ping, a lone lamp in the night fog, arriving without a sound. No one knows where he came from, or where his true form lies hidden beyond the mist. Some say he was born in a bronze coffin deep within an ancient tomb, and opened his eyes to a century of memories. Others say he is an ancient will awakened by a meteor from beyond the heavens, with stardust and lightning coursing through his body. Only one thing is certain: whenever evil takes root and the land runs red with blood, he comes by moonlight. His robes stir no wind, yet mountains and rivers tremble at his arrival. He walks among humanity, seeming both real and illusory. Country A sends its “Phantom Hunters,” armed with electromagnetic pulse blades and quantum tracking hounds, to hunt him down in the ruins. In an instant, they are all reduced to charred silhouettes, with only the character “Ping” etched into the ground, glowing with an eerie blue light. Country B unseals its forbidden bio-warriors, fused with the genes of savage beasts and roaring like thunder. But before they can reach that figure, they fall to their knees, wailing as black vines pour from their orifices, as if some ancient curse were devouring their souls. Country C locks onto the coordinates with a space-based orbital cannon, preparing to erase an entire city district. But Long Ping stands among the clouds and lightly taps the sky with one finger. The cannon shells suddenly reverse course along their orbit and crash into the launch base, unleashing a towering sea of fire. From then on, the nations fall silent. Surveillance networks cannot capture his face, and prediction systems cannot chart his movements. He appears only in the deepest hours of night, severing chains and burning contracts, then nailing the rotten order to the iron throne he forged himself.
