Among her opponents is Lu Guilin, her childhood sweetheart, who returned her betrothal letter three years ago. She's determined to win, but her former fiancé seems to have other things on his mind. They become embroiled in a deadly game that tests human nature, stumbling their way through puzzles and investigations. Just when they think the truth is within reach, they step into another nightmare with no end in sight... Sun Tangtang: I'll ask you one more time. Did you have a reason? Lu Guilin: What difference would it make if I did or didn't? A penny-pinching, hot-tempered chef x a cold, unhinged young master. Set in a fictional world, with no claim to historical accuracy.
