The Last Mech Soulmaster

Li Yang was once an ace mecha pilot. Now his soul has crossed into the body of a good-for-nothing young man in the interstellar age. While everyone believes in cold, hard data, his mocked “old-fashioned” piloting skills dazzle the academy. But because he challenges the bureaucratic authorities who worship technology above all else, he is repeatedly suppressed. When war breaks out on the border, his incredible skills turn the tide, yet the military still keeps him on the sidelines. Then Earth undergoes a sudden transformation, and the planet’s core begins to roar. He is the only one who can hear his home planet’s “heartbeat.” This ability, dismissed as madness, eventually becomes a psychic barrier that holds back a catastrophic flood of molten rock. The will of the planet uses him to announce the end of the world: humanity has become a target for elimination by its home planet’s immune system. Caught between interstellar war and Earth’s catastrophe, Li Yang must break free of the system’s chains and serve as an “interpreter” to help civilizations communicate and survive. In the end, this misunderstood “Ghost Ace” uses his most old-fashioned faith in piloting to compose a lonely, tragic anthem of redemption on the battlefield of the universe.
