Jiang Shan, and His Qi Meiren

The novel takes the turbulent times of Chu and Han as the background, and writes the love between Liu Bang and Qi Yi into a tragic song that spans thousands of years. It does not deliberately beautify imperial love, but makes the small sweetness of "warm porridge in the deserted temple" and "begonia appointment in the city tower" even more precious under the crushing fire of war and power. Liu Bang was not a perfect emperor, but he was willing to put down his body for Qi Yi, delivering water in the woodshed and making promises under flowers; Qi Yi was not a weak and beloved concubine. She stabilized the morale of the army with her pipa and protected her lover with her life. Love between two people is never one-way dependence, but mutual redemption in desperate situations. The most touching thing is the stubbornness of love in the face of power. Empress Lu's cruelty, Yi Chu's twists and turns, and the torture of "human pigs" failed to crush Qi Yi's perseverance - the repaired pipa played old songs, and the tightly held concentric knots hid the promise. Even at the end of her life, she still had the sweet past with Liu Bang in her mind. This deep feeling of "fulfilling the promise with life" adds warmth to the cold history. The scene at the end of "Begonias blooming in front of the Acacia Temple" sublimates the story from tragedy to eternity. It tells us that power will change and dynasties will fall, but true love can transcend life, death and time and become a warm imprint engraved in the national memory.
