Embers of the Abyss

When the “Abyss System” turns human emotions into power, reason and madness become the two keys to clearing the game.

Lu Jianwei, a psychologist whose license has been revoked, is elegant and wildly unhinged, treating rules like toys to take apart. Jiang Lian, a physics prodigy, is calm and gentle, using logic to fit the world with reins of order.

One wants to dismantle the rules; the other wants to hold the line. Through layer upon layer of instances, they are both reflections of each other and each other’s salvation.

“What if I take the rules apart?”

“Then I’ll bring you back to the human world.”

This is a story about reason and madness, restraint and redemption.
