I'm Really Just an Ordinary Investigator!

"You have to believe me. I really am just an ordinary investigator, and I won't live much longer. I'm not dangerous at all."

As Charlie explained, he advanced while carrying the head of a heretic who had died with his eyes open, dressed in the bloodstained clothes of a bishop.

A stone statue of an octopus-man hung from his waist, while a mark representing the Old Ones on his forehead continuously emitted a yellow halo.

From beneath his clothes, one or two writhing tentacles appeared from time to time.

"Don't come any closer. Please, don't come any closer!"

"We surrender. We'll willingly accept judgment. Just don't come any closer!"

"If you take even one more step, I'll kill myself!"

The heretics nearby looked at Charlie as though he were a monster!

From the perspective of a non-human...

Charlie insisted that he really would not live much longer. Every gamble consumed part of his lifespan. As an ordinary investigator, all he wanted was to see the sun rise tomorrow.
