A Century as the Sword Pavilion’s Sword Attendant, Then I Draw My Blade and Strike Down the Immortal of the Mortal World

After transmigrating into a world overrun by demons, where human lives are as worthless as blades of grass, Zhou Yang became a menial disciple of the Sword Sect, one of the top orthodox powers. Yet after more than a decade, he still hadn't begun cultivating, and now faced being forced out of the sect, with no way to know how he would survive.

Just then, a Sword Pavilion sword attendant nearing the end of his life chose him as one of the potential successors. If Zhou Yang could defeat the other two candidates, he would become a true sword attendant of the pavilion.

Fortunately, his photographic memory and incredible ability to remember things made beating his rivals a breeze. He became the Sword Pavilion's sword attendant and, in an astonishingly short time, memorized every detail about all the divine weapons housed there. Thus began his life as a sword attendant.

[You give the Evergreen Sword a cursory wipe and vaguely sense a faint trace of sword intent. Your aptitude and comprehension undergo a subtle change.]

[You carefully wipe the broken sword and sense the vast swordsmanship hidden beneath its placid surface. You comprehend the Sword Scripture, Fragment.]

[You carefully polish the Primordial Void Sword, sensing the weapon's restless desire for battle and its unwillingness to yield. You comprehend the innate talent Sword Heart Clarity, which allows you to sense the true intent of sword weapons.]

[You carefully nourish the Immortal-Slaying Sword, comprehending how its sharpness remains restrained for a moment of heaven and earth, yet lasts beyond a hundred years. Immortals may be elusive and long-lived, but they are no more than a drop in the ocean. You comprehend the Immortal-Slaying Sword Dao.]

And so Zhou Yang settled into life as the Sword Pavilion's sword attendant. A hundred years passed in the blink of an eye. Along the way, he guided many senior brothers and sisters, helping the Sword Sect produce one Sword Saint after another and reclaim its place as the sacred land of sword cultivators.

Then one day, immortals descended upon the mortal realm to reap its people. The supremes bowed their heads, the sects fell apart, and the Sword Sect was visited by an immortal too. But as the immortal descended over the sect, a single sword strike sent him crashing back down to the mortal world.

His ordinary life had been shattered!
